• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

confusion and fears/doubts

I have bipolar diagnosis. My mind goes off into really deep things in the spiritual world. It gets very scary and confusing. There are times I fear I have committed an eternal sin against the Holy Spirit. I believe in honesty, righteousness, and truth. But I don't know who I am, or how to think anymore. I feel lost. I believe Jesus died for my sins on an intellectual level, but it hasn't really manifested from my heart yet. I keep getting deeper and deeper into confusion. Mental illness is awful.

If you can, try thinking a simple truth such as God is love. Say to yourself/out loud that God loves me and I love Him and stop there. Keep your mind on that truth. Are you taking your meds if you take them? Are you eating right? Are you getting enough sleep? Sometimes it helps just to step outside and get a breath of fresh air...look at the sky...sit outside for a bit. Call and see if you can get in to see your mental health worker/counselor if you have one. When was the last time you had labs?

There is nothing wrong with going to the hospital. If you feel like you need to go then GO. Sometimes that is the safest place to be.

I'm joining others in prayer for you. God loves you and He is with you :groupray:

Ya, it can b hard to get out of ur head. I run to the psalms. There is also some kind of pay off for me when I'm absorbed in my thoughts. Could b obsessive desire to find my own answers, I think it's pride. Never works well and I go to the bible. Also just the enjoyment of thinking in itself. Left to run amok it leads to confusion. God will show u truths in His word and ask the Holy Spirit to guide u. He will
