  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Secundulus, we should give all the "Christians" in America a Bible quiz right now... I bet you 5 million dollars that at least 80% of them would fail, and I am not eggaterating.

Mini quiz..

1. Who was the first king to rule Israel?
2. Why did Israel and Judah split?
3. Where were the first people to use the term "Christian" in the Bible located?
4. Who wrote Acts?
5. Who was left behind in Israel while the vast majority of people went to Babylon?

I bet you would have to at least google one of these questions, even though the answer to every one is in the Bible.

It is not atheists who are confused.. Because trust me, I bet a lot more of us know about Christianity then Christians in the USA.

Psssst, Sec, it's atheists, not athiests.

/nitpick

I have been calling myself an atheist, but it's more complicated than that. I still talk - and even pray - to God sometimes. Doesn't mean I'm dumb, just skeptical of both sides.

Mini quiz..

1. Who was the first king to rule Israel? Saul
2. Why did Israel and Judah split? Civil war upon the assumption of the throne by Solomon's Son over exhorbitant taxes and other government abuses.
3. Where were the first people to use the term "Christian" in the Bible located? Antioch
4. Who wrote Acts? Luke
5. Who was left behind in Israel while the vast majority of people went to Babylon? The poor.

OK, I answered the questions without looking them up. But what does this have to do with a significant percentage of atheists claiming they believe in God?

See it is working. He has led thee into the Light of the NCR board and out of the darkness of the World. Rejoice, for great is thou reward in Heaven! :)

Matt 5:12 Be ye rejoicing and be ye being exulted, that the wages of ye much in the Heavens, for thus they persecute the prophets, they before ye.

Revelation 22:12 And behold!, I am coming swiftly and the wages of Me with Me, to render to each as the work is of Him :preach:

Very good job in answering my questions! You are the first Christian to have answered these all correctly. Most of them, when I asked who was left behind while the Jews went to Babylon, will say the Samaritans.. Which, could be an ok answer I guess, but yours was better.

Nevertheless, the vast majority of Christians have not answered all my mini quiz questions correctly.

All I am saying is this.. I see a lot more confused, blind following Christians, then I do atheist. Point I am trying to make, is look at your own faults before pointing at others.

Well, it helps that I just recently finished two graduate level courses in the OT

This thread was for fun, not to give people a hard time.

Anyone can research and find the answers they are not very hard anyhow... this is so childish...
so that proves what ? That Francais is one 'well educated in Christianity" atheist... There a penny a dozen out there... Proving we are theists because some of us are "blind believers" does not mean we are wrong... either. Maybe there is something out there you just do not see... Discreding a christian who believes does not necessarity means that Christianity is false either.. your generalization is false. You cannot judge from the particular the general...

I have been looking high and low for the actual survey to see what questions were asked but I can't find it. Has anyone else found it?

Not only does the survey say that 21% of atheists believe in God (uh...if you believe in God you are NOT an atheist) but it also says 57% of Evangelicals believe that many religions can lead to eternal life. Huh? What does that mean?

It was in reaction to the childish OP. So, I agree. The OP's logic was faulty as it employed a double standard. Double standards are also known as hypocrisy. He was just pointing that out.

I do have a hunch that the OP was joking.

philothei!!! You were so nice to me in the EO section, but you seem to be different here! Lol!!!

Apparently Secundulus was joking around in this thread, but I did not realize that. I thought he was saying that atheists were confused and perhaps even ignorant. So, I just simply was trying to say that most Christians can not even answer basic questions about their religion, so it is a double standard. I was not at all trying to act like I knew more then he did or anything. In fact, I was just presenting the mini-quiz to show that many Christians don't even know.(Secundulus did know however, and I am sure you did know the answers too. :))

All I was trying to do was point out a double standard.. Nothing more, honey! So, don't get mad please!
