  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I shared a few weeks ago about my fear of the 'demonic' a very dear person on this board has encouraged me greatly but i feel I've failed them and frightened to admit that this fear and confusion has returned.

Please pray for me as I really want to live for God but this is a real barrier which keeps me in turmoil.

We will! Prayer is our greatest weapon besides the Word of God. A good way to overcome evil is to pray Ephesians 6-The Armor of God. *prays*: we put on the helmet of salvation; gird our waist with the gospel of peace; take up the shield of faith and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God; shod our feet with the gospel of peace; put on the breastplate of righteousness.

LiA,

We'll certainly pray for you to overcome this stronghold in your life.

Here's a principle that I live by very strongly:

If you change what you believe, you’ll change how you behave. Because belief is not a result of changed behaviour; but changed behaviour is a result of what you believe.

(But I was raised in church where if you change how you behave, you’ll change what you believe. It doesn’t work that way.)

The Bible says give no foothold to the devil. And far too often we are more afraid of what the devil can do against us, than what God has, and is, and will do for us. And we talk too much about the devil. Who cares about the devil; God doesn’t. God dealt with the whole issue of the devil on the cross, and that was the end of that. He didn’t then rush around saying now what can I do to keep the devil away from the saints; it says He sat down at the right hand of the Father expecting His enemies to become His footstool. God has no problem with the devil and neither should you.

You need to change what you believe. And begin to see that God is for you. So I want to encourage you to see again how great God is, how big He is, He’s not missed anything, and begin to lose yourself in the nature and character of God because what happens then is hope springs up in your heart, and as that hope rises, faith has something to work with, because faith can only make substance of the things that you hope for, but you’re never going to have any hope unless you are absolutely saturated with an understanding of the nature and the character of God. That will fill you with hope every time. And begin to change what you believe.

Blessings and prayers will be with you.

Prayer is very important, and i encourage you never to loose faith that you can overcome because through god all things are possible. Don't be afraid just ask god to help you and he will. I also would suggest fasting i've felt completly horrible and then after i've fasted i felt renewed in the spirit of god. The devil tries to break us from our relationship with god by instilling fear in our hearts. Don't give in, stand strong, and resist the devil and he will flee from you. God bless you.

LIA, you have nothing to be sorry for. I fact it is an honor to us for you to have shared such a need with us. Here is a story I like to read sometimes when I'm feeling overwhelmed:

2 Kings 6:14-18
14 Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. 15 And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?" 16 So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, "LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 18 So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, "Strike this people, I pray, with blindness." And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. NKJV

Elisha was a pretty cool cat, but we all have the very same protection from Dad.

Grace, Mercy, and Peace,
Asaph

I know God's will for you is to have a sound mind and be at perfect peace. The enemy is throwing fiery darts at you, but they are stopped by the Ephesian's shield of faith. You can put your faith in action simply by praising the Lord and telling Him that your His property-not the devil's. Silly demons cannot defeat Christ's bride (you)
I praise God with wreckless abandon,(not knowing what I will say until after I say it-it's always praise) and devils flee.
I got saved in 1985 (22yrs old) because I was "loosing my mind" for no reason. I cried out to God and accepted Christ. The moment I got saved I saw 6-8 different lights (demons) in my head running in circles, they screamed and left. In 1990 after living less than holy, they said "We're back." I decided if I praise God they certainly could not invade me. So i praised God fast and hard, spoke in tongues shortly thereafter and became Pent/Charismatic. now I understand why they write books with titles such as "The Power of Praise," "Deliverance thru Praise" etc. Hope this helps see ya P.S. I'm gonna pray that you speak in tongues,
