Hi Kim,
The reason you have no assurance of your salvation is because you think it depends on you. Your only part in salvation is to believe that Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again. Believe that his blood was shed for you. There are no works mixed in. Please watch the video I posted as soon as you can. Truth time radio does an excellent job teaching the Bible the way it is supposed to be taught, rightly divided (2 Timothy 2:15).
You can never forget that when you are reading from Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John you are reading about Israel's program. For our doctrine today you need to be reading Romans through Philemon. The information that was kept secret since the world began and only revealed to the apostle Paul from the risen Lord.
We are now living in the dispensation of the grace of God, Ephesians 3:2. To be saved look at Romans 1:16 Paul says for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVETH.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 tells us what the gospel is - how that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.
There are no works mixed in.
Ephesians 2:8,9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Read that verse again. Salvation is a gift. No works required, only your faith. When you trust that Christ died for your sins (all of them, past, present, and future), was buried, and rose again, when you trust that and not adding anything to it, you are saved.
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believieth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
