  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So some say the earth will tilt? Some say the weather will change, some say that part of the world will cease to exist. What does the bible say, really? What should I really expect? I have heard California is going to be destroyed? My family lives in Arizona. Is there anyone who really can show evidence of what is going to happen?I am completely confused. Not stressed, but more inquisitive:confused:.

Always be a "Chicken Little"...

2000 came and none of the computers blew up ....Y2K ...didn't happen
the JW and 7DA predicted the end coming in 1800-1900-1914-1941-2000 didn't happen....
now supposedly the Maya carvings....and 3rd world cave drawings....suggest...

live each day as if it was your last...
forgive everyone....
give, be generous
finish each day, what needs done
then if it is the last for you, for your city...you are ready to go...
all you can do....

worry not about tommorrow, the day is enough for us to concern ourselves with...

I was just using a base of random quotes from ridiculous family members who were attacking me saying I better protect my family. I don't believe in the hokeyness of "the world will end premonitions". Just wanted to know based off your research, not 2012 Hollywood, what could or could not happen via the internal earth structure.
Some have assumed California would crash, some say huge tidal waves. I am not worried. I have my salvation intact. I am sure my children would be safely following. Just random thoughts I guess. I quite honestly did not mean any harm.

We as Christians know the world will end , when it does. Not much we can do about it,nor will we have a date or real clear timeline.

I believe more than just christians will agree with that.
As to California falling apart, I live in California and everything seems to be intact as of today. Although, theres still time till the end of the year but I doubt anything will happen.

If something happened in 2010 or 2011, the prediction is very good.
If something took place between 2013 and 2015, the prediction is also very good.

So, hang in there.

Some people are just nuts.

That's really all there is to it. You can either do some serious doublethink and try to convince yourself of some very implausible and unlikely scenarios that explain the continued existence of the Earth despite everything that was predicted in 2012, or you can just realize that these people didn't really know anything about anything.

Our galaxy (milky-way) is on a collision course with Andromeda Galaxy, eta aprox 4 billion years.

This event is almost certain and this timeline is "real clear".

However at the current rate of destruction to our planet I expect the homo sapien species will cause its own extintinction well before then.

This is true but very unlikely to do anything. Think about the top of a giant tree being pushed into another big tree. Think of the spaces between the leaves and branches.

A galaxy is a lot like the top of a tree, all the stars have huge spaces between them relative to their size. The idea is when these galaxies merge, they won't collide in the way we would think. The two will join together to form one gigantic galaxy as the stars in the two galaxies fill in the spaces between each other.

I personally believe a species as complex as us is just too difficult to keep around for a long time. We will probably cause our own extinction and of not probably uncontrolled disease or depletion of our natural resources will do us in for sure. Our the sun will out. That'll pretty much be the end of the world definitively.

I wasn't suggesting the demise of Earth would be a collision, I was suggesting the demise of Earth would be as a direct result of the collision/amalgamation of the two galaxies.

I agree we will most probably cause the demise of our own species, the end of our world, however I believe life on earth will continue as it did for billions of years before our species appeared.
