Confirmation names

Kind of a random question, but I was wondering...
I know Lutherans do confirmation but do you pick confirmation names or is that just a Roman Catholic thing?

I've never heard of Lutherans choosing confirmation names. Choosing (or being assigned) a confirmation verse is pretty common, but since I was an adult confirmand I didn't even get that much!

There may be other Christian churches where confirmands take confirmation names, so it might not be just a Roman Catholic thing. As far as I've ever known, though, it's not a Lutheran thing. Not that we find anything wrong with Roman Catholics (and perhaps others) doing it per se; it's just never been a part of our faith tradition.
