They probably only schedule that much because not that many people go unfortunetly. If the number of people went up to where they couldn't get all the people done in one hour, they would schedule more time.ps139 said:Me too
I really wish the parishes around me offered a little more than 1 hour per week for Confession. I know that I can always schedule one with a priest, but what sort of message does it send when a church only gives 1 hour out of every 168 hours for Confession? This Sacrament is much more important than that.

I think its the opposite. I think when the parish says, "we only devote 1 out of 168 hours to hearing Confession," the layman gets the notion that its no big deal. Mass is every day, often multiple times, and everyone knows that thats a big deal. But I think a lot of parishes need to emphasize the importance of Confession, and the first step would be to say "we are hearing Confession 3 days this week..." or something along those lines.P.O.D.
