  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

im currently jobless and am looking for work. i have been lazy in past. Wife is upset because i left dirty dish in sink. and still havnt found a job. but had time to shave my face today. i accomplished more than i usually have but not enough to her time frame an 8 hr work day. I said "to not be seen as lazy is to do everything you need to get accomplished completed in a time appropiate manner. there is always SOMETHING that can be done every sec of the day" is this condescending?

Right now I work part-time. In an average 8 hour day, I spend 5 hours commuting/teaching. The rest of my day is spent picking up the house, feeding the critters, doing laundry, cooking/cleaning up the kitchen, grading student work. I'm pretty much busy from 6am to 9pm. If you can't be bothered to put a dish in the dishwasher (or wash it) and your big accomplishment is shaving, I think you have lousy time management skills, are lazy, and need to spend your time looking for work.

Didn't pay much attention in school, did ya?
That's really mean, I don't know this guy's situation but just to tell you here in Texas we have people with 4 year engineering degrees, 10+ years of experience, professional licences who cannot find jobs since the oil field market crashed. All we can do is pray that it gets better. And before any one days anything about humbling ones self to take something in retail or food service, know this, those jobs age getting scarce too. Since the oil money isn't flowing people aren't going to eat or shop as much.

I remember a one panel cartoon from the campus news paper back when I was in school.

A guy was sitting behind a desk that had the "Personnel Manager" sign and was looking at a paper. Another guy was standing in front of the desk with a dismayed look on his face. Behind the desk there was an "Ace Taxi Company" sign on the wall. The caption:

"You only have a masters' degree?? All my drivers have PhDs."

It's rough here right now. My husband constantly has old acquaintance asking for any leads on jobs, any jobs.
