I’m so old that I remember when it was a big no no for a married couple to sleep in the same bed on tv and now we have men canoodling with other men in commercials.
Such as in I Love Lucy? (I'm not saying you are that old)

They couldn't even be shown in the same bed, nor could they use the world "pregnant" on TV.

It was "expecting" instead.

I saw it and of course there are plenty of Cardinal shenanigans.

But I think the main character is portrayed as honest, well intentioned and honorable. So is the elected pope. I would be honored to know such men if they really existed. A sister is an important character. She also speaks well for sisters. So I would say it is mixed. But the main theme has to do with tradition v. the future. Maybe that is why traditionalists think it anti-Catholic. Heck, I recommend it. It was entertaining.
