I want to know who put God here? Something can't come from nothing, right?Disciple 3 said:You should know that. And my point is, once again, something cannot come from nothing. So who put everything here?
Okay, so a 14 year old posts in the Teen and Young adults forum, and quotes scripture a few times and gets in one of those circles they like to get into and tell each other how right they are. Do you realize how easy 100 posts is?KennySe said:If a newly "born again Christian" is foolish enough to enter a bar and yell at the top of his lungs, "You sinners are all going to hell!", shouldn't we "not-so-new" christians protect this new Christian from such folly?
(I imagine a thrown bottle at him, or a cuestick over his head.)
Likewise, I see merit in making the "Open to all areas, which ahave a good atheist population, as restricted to "new Christians.
And the only way thisa site could do such is to do what was similarly done with IDD, a poster must have 100 posts before posting in certain areas.
Our responsibility as Christians is to defend our Christian Faith, and to also protect our fellow Christians.
Honestly, I probably wouldn't have if I had looked at the age. But as I said, I never look at ages or denominations or whatever before I post. To me those details aren't as important as the arguements presented.Christy4Christ said:I know the slang, I am from New York as well. I still don't think it is nice to say to an older lady
Anyway, next time just try to be a little nicer, I know what you mean about being in debate gear.
Also, I am still grateful to you for helping me out last night. I wasn't coming down on you just pointing out that maybe you could have been a little more gentle..
Prove it.Christy4Christ said:Well God is eternal. He is, always was, and ever shall be, world without end..
Yes, faith. Faith means belief in the abscence of proof. Do you realize how silly it looks to out-and-out deny all other faiths and viewpoints, including atheism, because they lack proof or backing, and then say "it's my faith that God exists, therefore, he does!"Christy4Christ said:God is the Creator who was not created, He is the Cause of all that is without Himself having been caused, He is the Supreme Mover without Himself being moved. In a nut shell, He was, is, and ever shall be. Infinite.
It's an article of faith...
I believe he makes a good point.Sir Stephen Henry Roberts (1901-1971) said:"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
But you are refusing to push that logic to its next stop. You are intentionally making yourself blind to the conclusions. Ever read 1984? Good read. You cannot, without resorting to the faith arguement, prove God.Disciple 3 said:He is the everlasting God the creator of the universe. If he is everlasting not mortal, he is not subject to time, like we are. What I am saying is that atheists are a bunch of contradictory people in denial. You know my view on the nothing and something things. Logic and this law says that God exists. They are blinded by the god of this world.
Where does science say he must exist? Where does this logic say that? Logic says he cannot exist. Does that register?Disciple 3 said:Logic say he exists, as well as science. If you walk around with your eyes closed are you going to be able to see where you are walking? No, of course not. If they open there eyes and lidten [sic] to there own science they see it.
Your request to prove God is exactly what the OP was talking about.

Here is a quote from my signature.
I believe he makes a good point.
Now, Christy, I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I want to drive home a point. If the best we, as Christians, can come up with is "we have faith in God", then we're not going to win as many converts as we like.
Bushido216 said:Where does science say he must exist? Where does this logic say that? Logic says he cannot exist. Does that register?
If I can, single-handedly, destroy every single attempt at a proof of God, it is indicative not of any need to censor others, but to come up with more decisive arguements.

Bushido216 said:Fair warning, however, having good looking children could easily be attributed to luck in the gene pool as much as God.
Consider me the field test for any arguements.
