Competitive Couples

It's a weird phenomenon that I don't get.

Why do some couples get competitive with other couples?

Aren't we all supposed to be happy for each other?

Just a thought.

Ok. I know lots of great people in couples who are perfectly happy with their relationships and who are genuinely happy to see other love stories or happy couples.

Then there are those occasional couples that are really, for lack of a better term, competitive. They seem irked by the happiness of another couple or try to prove themselves better in some way.

Am I the only one who has noticed these rare couples that just get so cranky about other people in love?

I don't get it.

Ehh, I may have seen something like that in movies, but I can't think of anyone like that in real life off the top of my head.

They're few and far between but I can honestly say I've met a few couples like that. It makes me sad to see them so unhappy with the happiness of others.

I'm guessing it doesn't make sense to you either then.
