Comparison
A pastor once said, Comparison is the thief of joy. How true is that? That is one thing many of us, myself included, struggle with. My siblings were very sociable in high school years, all were academically successful, I always looked at how well my siblings did, how many friends they had and was jealous because of it. I constantly look at what others have, and oh how I wish I had what they have. But I also need to realize, and so do many people, that everyone possesses something that someone else wants. Once and awhile I hear something like, I wish I had your heart. But many times I ignore that statement, I am not satisfied with that. I, therefore am saying I am not satisfied with the person God created. And if I cannot be satisfied with that than I, nor anyone, can every truly be the person God created me to be. No you may not have the looks, the humor, the money, the social attributes that other people have, but you are a creation of God, created in His image. And as a saying someone has hanging over her desk, God dont make no junk. Each one of us has a spiritual gift, a gift given to us by God, and to be used for God. Yes, it may be true that you do not know what your spiritual gift is, for many this is the case. But I believe if we take a moment and stop looking at what other people are good at and take a moment to listen to what others have said about us, and to look inside of ourselves, we will find our gift. It is your gift, it is what separates you from everyone else, someone may have the same gift, but it is still different. Genesis 1:27: So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
