I was wondering: how many of you think that weekly communion is an important part of worship? Why or why not?

Personally, I feel as if something is "missing", no matter how uplifting the music and preaching is, if there is no communion. Of course, your mileage may vary.

In Christ,

Daniel

I love communion. I don't feel like something is missing if we don't have it, but I do think that we should have it every week.

I value partaking in communion often. The reason being because in communion we are brought back to the reality of Christ--his death and his resurrection. It makes Christ center in a huge way in our worship. It's something to celebrate. It's good.

I wouldn't say it needs to be required every week, but communion needs to be deeply valued in our worship.

Being in a liturgical church, my opinion may be a departure from some others here. Communion is THE culmination of every service. In it, we remember Him, we fellowship with Him, we receive healing from Him, and his very being becomes a part of our own in both a tangible and a mystical way. There is something about the initimacy with the Lord in the communion that can't be duplicated any other way, no matter how deep and meaningful the worship time. I think it is very important to "do" this in remembrance, as He said.
