Communication with God

Hey everyone,

Im quite new here. Im Mike.

Just wanted to ask everyone:

How can I be able to hear from God?
Im finding it difficult. I cant really understand or know that God is speaking to me. I think I seem to lack discernment.
Some advice would be good, please. And some prayer.

um...... sometimes people do get some sort of signs, but one needs to pray about it first. Start by praying, that will never get you wrong.

God speaks to us through many ways, through the people He put around us, through a verse? a book? a passing word?

Practically, read the Word. Nothing arms you more especially when you want to descern things. BUt once you are armed, it's really easy to descern alot of things.

You have a bomb of influence inside you ready to explode once you packed in enough of God's glyceryne. KEep at it

I was at a summer camp once. At the end of that summer camp i was introduced to my friend's friend. We've never met before so i just said hi.

The instant i saw her, i was very compelled to give her a word. (prophesy or something) I just waited thinking it wasn't anything. But a while later that urge to say something to her just came out of me. I did prophesy over her that night and as far as i knew, i thought i was just making a total fool out of myself.

A little later though, what i did say to her telling her of her situation etc was spot on. I was like, woah. God's way of speaking to people is weird.

I hear from God in four ways:

1. Through reading and studying the Bible. It's God's word!

2. Through praying and listening for his voice. It's a still, small voice that sometimes I can hear in my heart. You know it when you hear it.

3. Through other Christians. Listening to them, what they have learned about God, and the rare special message they have received from Him.

4. Through nature. I can feel God's power, grace, majesty and other character traits and messages through observing nature.

But I rely heavily on hearing from God through His word, the Bible, because it has the most direct, consistent and reliable words.

Wait a minute here...I just responded to a post of your's in a thread in this same Deeper Fellowship area... in which you said "I only hear Christ's voice"

And now I see that you need help in doing it over here. I'm slightly confused

But if you can truly hear God's voice and want to know Him better... why not just ask Him what to do?
