I would like to set forth a peaceful thread, a thread where grace is freely offered by each one of use, grace of forgiveness.
When in debates, it tends to get heated, and words are used that should not be used. Peoples feelings can and do get hurt; personal attacks are made. It is our human nature to sin, it is our nature to be wicked, but these are not excuses to do so.
I am seeking to make this a forgiveness thread within the creation vs. evolution debates. Forgiveness means to forgive and forget the wrong that has been done to you. There needs not to be an apology to forgive someone. Forgiveness is extremely important to the Christian because Jesus said:
"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Matthew 6:14-15
When we forgive, so too will our Father forgive us. But if we do not forgive then our Father will not forgive us.
I am writing this because of two things: One, I have been rude in some or many of my posts on this forum. They have not been becoming of a Christian. So I apologize to each of you, whether it was you I was rude to or not. I apologize specifically to Vance and Dr. Morton, for I know I was very short with both you. It was wrong of me to treat each of you in such a way.
Secondly, I write this because I do not want to see any Christian here, TE, YEC, OEC, or whatever your belief is to withold forgiveness because you are angry at someone for what they said to you. For if you do withold forgiveness, so too will God withold forgiveness from you. This also means that when we forgive one another, we do not dredge previous sins up later to throw back in one another's face. We forget them, as God forgets ours.
Lastly, I am hoping that each person here, takes the time to respond in kind words and seeks to help any fellow Christian to forgive, by apologizing for any wrong you believe you have done to another here. Furthermore, I seek that we take this to new and different level. Keeping in mind that we need to forgive, we will not return any insults given by another in the heat of the moment with an insult. We will rather be an example to those who read this, who are not Christians, of how Christians behave.
We live by example, even if we don't agree, we still live by example and people who don't believe in Jesus Christ are watching us and judging Christianity by how we behave with each other. Keep that in mind.
Please, please keep this thread in harmony and resist the temptations to through something in someones face. That is not what Jesus would do.
