While people are sometimes guilty of committing logical fallacies such as those depicted, others are guilty of accusing someone of a fallacy when, in fact, either no fallacy exists or the accusation made on the wrong type of fallacy (Fallacy Fallacy)
A common one both seen on discussion forums and being accused on forums is a "straw man argument" (misrepresenting a person's comment in order to make it easier to attack). Another common fallacy is the personal attack (Ad hominem).
