  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Jerome belongs to a group that helps teach other people that they can be drug free and become better people. This group meets every Sunday to help free themselves of drugs and addictions. They share their experience, strength and hope at every meeting. Not only that, but they go out into all areas of their lives and helped others. They know that they can’t keep what they had without giving it away.

You see after they had surrendered they came to the realization that God had taken care of them throughout all their trials and had never left them. In fact, it was they who had left God. After realizing this they strive to teach other people and commit themselves into service.

One day Jerome called Richard, an older member of the group, and told him that he had had a bad week and was tired. He said he wasn’t going to come to the group and fulfill his commitment. He said he would call another member and ask him to take his place. Richard thought for a moment and related this story.

He told Jerome that there was another man that was tired of his commitment too. It was Jesus and he want to rest too, only this happened a long time ago. He had been traveling around for years teaching people about salvation. Jesus had a home group too. The outside world didn’t understand him or the teachings he proclaimed. However, this didn’t shake his commitment to reach as many people as he could.

Then one night he felt overwhelmed. He prayed that he could just stop and rest. He asked his fellow group members to stay with him and protect him as he prayed, but they couldn’t stay awake. Soldiers came and took him away.

Fast forward… The day Jesus was beaten and had to drag a cross up a hill, just to be nailed to it, he could have asked another member to take his place. But he didn’t and because he didn’t, we’re saved by his blood. What do you think would have happened if Jesus had been too tired to serve his commitment that day?

I’m not saying we’re Jesus, but the commitment is the same. You might not think you make a difference, but you do, to the new comer and old timer as well. So, keep coming back, it works.
