Which Book by Book bible comentaries do the people here recommend?

Also is there any "danger" in reading a book of commentaries on a particular book of the tanakh that is written by rabbis or jewish scholars who are non-believer of Yeshua?

JPS (Jewish Publications Society) puts out some wonderful Torah and Tenach commentaries. My all time favorite is the Stone Chumash, by far and away!

This is one of those things that depend on who you ask. Some will tell you that since both the rabbis and Y'shua are teaching Torah, there really isn't a problem. Others would consider this line of thinking heretical, and tell you that you should not seek spiritual guidance from someone who doesn't accept Y'shua. I'm going to say that this decision is up to the individual.

I will have to look around to see which stores carry JPS stuff. seems like Stone Chumash will be something to get.

I know, but it's really the best advice I can give.

Anyway, you can check out the Stone Edition Chumash over at www.artscroll.com . They offer a lot of pretty good stuff in edition to the Chumash, as well. They are offline on shabbat...not that you should be shopping online during shabbat.
