History: Tomalak is a Romulam commander who, with his ship and crew was stranded on the planet with the group now known as Project 5 when he was sent there to investigate a temporal anomaly. Tomalak was given command of Terix because he was one of the best commanders in the Romulan fleet and Terix was a test bed for some of the latest generation of cloaking technology and a new generation of hull armor and regenerative shielding that was based on stolen plans for the Federation's Prometheus class ship.
Tomalak's first command was an old former Klingon D7 class cruiser with which he was able to fulfill a number of covert mission for the Tal Shiar until he was given command of an older D'Deridex class warbird. He successfully commanded a number of missions, including the one in which a cloaked ship snuck in and stole the plans for the Federation's Prometheus. He has also fought the Borg on numerous occasions and conducted several covert operations againts both the Klingons and the Cardassians.
Tomalak is even more paranoid and suspicious than the typical Romulan and so carries a Disruptor pistol wherever he goes.
