I thought I would post an introductory post of sorts here too. I have been lurking lately because I have been getting back into the swing of things with Word of Faith.
I was introduced to it back in August 1994 via Andrew Wommack's tapes. (He was on the only radio station we could pick up while driving through mountains. ha!) I don't think I ever got truly grounded in the basics of the teachings even though I heard many many messages (Wommack, Copeland, Duplantis, Yandian, Capps, etc; attended Mark Crow's church for awhile). It was mainly something my family got into, and their focus was more on 'getting' than 'getting grounded', if you know what I mean. (The family has since drifted off to The Secret.)
So not grounded plus dealing with problems and not having satisfactory answers...Then I got the internet and found the anti-WoF sites saying Kenyon influenced everyone, and he was actually some metaphysical nut. I think it was through lurking here I saw someone mention Joe McIntyre's E.W. Kenyon and His Message of Faith: The True Story book. I have been reading it and have been relieved to find out that he wasn't a metaphysical nut. It was a bit disappointing to see I had swallowed unsubstantiated hearsay and let it derail my life for so long, but it's time to get up and get going again.
Anyhow, I'm looking forward to discussing and learning much here. I have found the posts suggested teachers, teachings, and books to be very helpful.
