Oswald Chambers, author of the devotional series "My Utmost for his Highest" wrote, 'If you live up to the highest and best that you know in the outer level of your life, God will continually say to you, "Friend, come up even higher."' Just take a moment to think about that for a moment.

One of the things about your walk with God is that for each step you should be getting closer with him. Oswald goes on to say "Compare this week in your spiritual life with the same week last year to see how God has called you to a higher level. We have all been brought to see from a higher viewpoint. Never allow God to show you a truth which you do not instantly begin to live up to, applying it to your life. Always work through it, staying in its light. "

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be one of those we consider spiritual giants like Moses, Abraham or the apostles? To be as connected with God as they were? Well we can be, they made mistakes just like we do but they always listened and responded in faith when God said "Come up even higher". Stay blessed.

Dear God, as we live in you each day, help us to grow in grace, and come up higher when you call. Amen

To come up higher indicates a climb; an action; movement; expenditure of energy! It is hard to climb in a sitting position. Before one can climb there must be a rising from the posterior to take a STAND. One must FIRST Stand for something before one can climb higher in that Standing! All of the Spiritual Giants you have mentioned took a STAND. Only THEN were they called to come up higher! As the writer said, when you do your UTMOST, THEN you will be called higher.

Those sitting around doing NOTHING need not expect a call to go anywhere!
