  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So, what colours did all of you ladies choose for your wedding? I have officially chosen black with light pink flowers (my MOH and bridesmaid will be wearing black dresses and will be carrying light pink flowers). The groomsmen and my fiance will be wearing silver where ever the colours are called for and their bouteneirs will be white. My fiance wont have anything on him or his groomesmen that is pink. Can I say...typical! Oh well, I wouldn't expect him to wear to pink anyway.

My theme was blue and silver. The matron of honour wore silver and the bridesmaids wore babyblue. Their bouquets had blue flowers whose names i can't even recall now, but mine were white roses and orchids. The best man wore a silver vest and the groomsmen wore blue vests, and the blue and silver theme was carried in all the decorations.

I'm in quite a rich ivory (i'm too peely wally (or pale for those who aren't scottish!)for white!!)
My bridesmaids are all in a rich wine colour/burgundy

The groom and best man are wearing kilts which will be really deep charcoal/black with a very fine lighter charcoal tartan and his plaid will be in the tartan that the ushers are wearing. Their tartan has the wine colour through it and a very deep green - so very christmassy lookin.

Can't wait to see everyone all dressed up!

Hmm... colours? Absolutely not sure yet. I think white, black and reddy colour, but feel this may be not a great idea as another couple had the same colours who got married 364 days before us.

My friends got married in august (we get married 2 weeks tomorrow) i told her my colours that i decided on (way back in august 2004) she was going for gold at this point, but at the wedding she had the same colour as what mine is.

It doesn't matter what colours you go for, there is a huge gap of time and all weddings are different no matter if you have the same colour scheme.

I was originally wanting green (celadon, specifically) but after choosing my dress, and looking at options, we've decided on a dark purple for the girls' dresses, and the guys vests and ties. I'm still hoping to use the green colour as an accent colour cuz I still love it, and while it looks good with my dress, the purple just looks that much better! Plus, with outdoor photos, the green might blend into the greenery, whereas the purple will definitely stand out.

Our siblings (my sisters and his brothers) are going to be ushers and program-hander-outers. We're trying to decide what sort of clothing to ask them to wear (mostly the girls. The guys will wear suits) We're thinking maybe skirts of the same colour as the bridesmaids, and then a white top maybe. We'll see. Depends on how much the skirts would cost!

I know this may sound a bit tacky but I saw a picture of it on the internet and it looks awesome. the bridesmaids dresses will be nectarine orange with a carnival pink trainthat attaches at the waist. Wow it looks amazing and the best part is it's totally original. now I just have to find the maids to put in the dresses

*sighs and continues dreaming about wedding*

sounds interesting. I wouldn't have imagined that combination. Could you share the picture? I'm all curious now! :)

well, you've got quite the colour range there!!
I've seen pics of weddings where each bridesmaid wears a different colour of the same dress- you could do that with the pink-blue-lavendar thing (might have to pick another colour or two depending on how many girls you have).

Also, depends on what the guys will wear. Do you want them to match? Are they willing to wear pink if that's what you pick? What sort of flowers do you want? What colours do they come in?

Does your wedding dress have any colour in? Mine has multi-coloured embroidery, so I picked colours that match the embroidery.

Where are you having your ceremony, pictures, and reception. If, for example, your church has a lot of red (carpet, banners, etc.), then perhaps hunter green would look a little too Christmassy for you. If you're having outdoor photos, try not to pick a dress the same colour as grass and leaves or it might blend in too much. :)

You might also want to consider other weddings of relatives or close friends happening around the same time. My sister is getting married a couple months after me, and I made sure to pick colours way different from hers. (she's having red, I'm having purple and green). Also, good friends of ours are getting married a couple weeks before us, and she's having light purple and I'm having dark purple- but we talked about it and both of us are fine with it. It happened by accident too- neither of us knew the other's colour until after we'd all decided!

Overall though, pick a colour you and your fiance love. It'll be in your wedding photos for the rest of your lives!! :)

Colours! Well they are picked now... and yes, the MOH picked the colours ! :p It's pale pink, used in the singlet top of the dress, and navy for the skirt... And silver accent for jewelry and other bits and pieces that we need for decorating. i lvoe my colours, he's coping with the pink...

The BM and MOH flowers are articifically roses, 9 of them. And I got tehm so cheap and they are so beautiful... but i will get them professionally detailed and wrapped. My flowers and corsages etc, will be baby pink. I love all of it really.
