  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

[bible]Colossians 3:23[/bible]

I do my best to follow this.
Whether I am doing my regular job or doing nursery work at church I have always done my tasks as unto the Lord giving it my all not expecting any "thanks".

I use to struggle with not being appreciated BUT have gotten beyond that.

Having said that it is wonderful when you do get recognized for your hard work.
But even more so when the people understand your Christian perspective on life.

I switched work assignments the beginning of May.
The last three days I was asked to assist them on a crisis.
Today when I came into work I had a lovely "Thank you" card signed by everyone on the team, the supervisor and her boss.
And a 8-piece note card set with a cat on the front of it. (Yes, I like cats!)
Totally NOT necessary but awfully nice.

======================================================

Just wanted to encourage everyone if you do ever feel discouraged about working hard all that matters in the end is that the Lord knows your heart.

Especially volunteer jobs which includes those around the church.
It is much better getting into those tasks willing and joyfully.

Awww that's so great Catlin! Thank you for sharing!!!

Congrats on being able to work hard with no recognition. That's hard to do... I know I'm trying to work through it and stay positive without feeling appreciated. I know God is smiling down and that's enough right? Just gotta keep reminding myself - so thank you for the reminder!

Great thought Caitlincares! Thank you for sharing. Congratulations to you and Praise be to God.

Yes, whatever we do we need to do cheerfully as unto the Lord. Even tho noone might praise us, the Lord would be praising us and observing us in love and expectation. I am reminded of a few quotes -
(1) A Christian's true reward is in Heaven!
(2) The reward of the work done is that the work is done!

So, noone really need to reward or praise us for what we do on earth except for our Lord and Master in Heaven! On the other hand, We should thank and praise the Lord for having enabled us to complete the work we had to do.

May our dear Lord continue to bless you Caitlincares :)
