  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Colorado Sunset

I just came home after evening services. As I came up the hill towards my neighborhood, the sky behind me turned orange and the sun became a blazing ball of orange fire shooting out orange rays against the dusky blues and purples of the mountains and began to slowly sink. At the top of the hill near my home, I looked across the open schoolyard at the mountains, and each of the foothill ranges were outlined - dark purple on indigo on blue, with the sky lit up in pinks, roses, and oranges as the sun sank behind the mountains. I continued down the hill among the green trees of my neighborhood just reflecting on the awesome glory God has put in creation.

And this is the God who calls us to His faithful service.

I saw one like that in BC a few years back while on a ferry boat.

Speaking of Colorado, when I was a teen we went there on vacation (camping!) and I remember waking up really early to the most incredible scene ever at sunrise. I was looking at the mountains and everything had this pastel-like colour to it....looked surreal.

Many evenings and mornings in Colorado are like that - I like to think that God uses the Colorado sky and the mountains as His painting canvas.

America-the Beautiful was written here - this is where the purple mountain majesty is. :^)

I believe it! That's what I saw that morning.

The writer of America the Beautiful didn't have Indiana in mind! lol!! Actually, I can't say that. I have spent some time in the last month at a local park along the river and the scenery there is quite pretty. The days I've been there have been sunny with blue sky and a few fluffy clouds. The blues, whites, greens all blend in so perfectly you feel as though you can see heaven when you look up. Way cool!
