CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know you mean this ironic, but nevertheless there seem to be enough people really fearing earth's destruction by the LHC and it's a fear I don't understand.
If you're a theist, then you either believe that your god won't allow it to happen, or otherwise it's not the end but just the beginning of your wonderful afterlife in heaven, so why fear it? (On a sidenode, I believe this is exactly why suicide is a death sin).
If you don't share this faith there is still nothing to worry about. If all calculations are really so absolutely totally wrong, that the complete earth gets destroyed, it's quite simply all over. It's not like pollution or climate change or war, or whatever, where I have to worry about the life and health of my children or my loved ones. We're just snipped out of existance without any further consequences ... R
