  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Anyone here know of any good, reputable Christian centers of education which someone could get a ministry degree? The only ones I know of are AG colleges and I don't know much about others I read about online to say for sure if they are good or not.

For instance, most searches I've done say Wheaton is the top in the country, but I've heard from several friends (here and in person) that say Wheaton has compromised a lot on doctrine and belief.

I ask because it seems most churches that are searching for a Pastor require some form of Christian education to be considered. Seeing how I'm leaving the Army in 3 months and feel as though God is calling me to such a ministry, I am looking into getting a degree. Just need to know where I can start looking.

I would really, REALLY love to hear from those of you here that have served, or perhaps even are still serving as Senior Pastors/ministry leaders about your experiences getting started. Any help you can afford me I appreciate dearly.

I know this is an older thread, but if you are still looking at going back school for ministry a school I would recommend is the University of Valley Forge. They are a smaller school in Pennsylvania. They are an AG college but they are very devoted to a Christ-centered curriculum. If you have concerns over Wheaton on compromising doctrine, I assure you you would not have those concerns with UVF.

Regent College Vancouver? Fuller? United Theological Seminary, where Randy Clark went? Vineyard has it's own college and Global Awakening has a school and Catch the Fire has courses, after Vineyard on are non academic.

Look at the lives of past and present ministers, the best, and see where they studied.
