College tours

Hi all,

I'm going on a few college tours next week and I was wondering if anyone had any questions I should ask, or things I should look for. I'll be touring UNF, UF, and UCF.

Ask to see a typical freshman dorm. I was put off of one college altogether because the freshman dorms had coed bathrooms. *Shudders.*

If you know your major, see if you can sit in on a related class in that department. See what you think of the professor, the teaching style, the material, etc.

Ask about extracurriculars, if you have something particular in mind.

Absolutely ask any necessary financial questions - tuition, room and board, need-based aid, scholarships, and the like. Can you get work study as a freshman? Is public transportation provided to reduce the need for gas/cars on campus?

And try the food. (The food at my school's kind of crummy, but in every other respect the college I chose outshone the others, so I bear with it. )
