  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I think that part of the problem is that it can be hard to classify people in our age group. There are some who would be perfectly happy in a setting exactly the same as their high school youth group, while others are looking for something more adult, some are married, some are not, and some even have kids.

My husband and I settled into a 20s/30s couples group, although we were the youngest ones in it. Then everyone started having babies (which we're not quite ready to do :) ) and we started feeling kind of left out again.

I don't know, that just might be a little insight into why it's harder to find college ministries.

I'm sure I'll go eventually. The last time I tried to go my good buddy ditched out and left me hanging. *cough*Kahnrtis*cough*

I totally agree with katelyn. At this point in young adult's lives we are headed in so many different directions. Not that its a bad thing, but it does draw a dividing line between us and its hard for the church to have something that will accommodate our different paths.

Our church has decided to open up the coffee shop on a saturday night which is really cool. for fellowship and teaching and are also looking to do some on campus stuff.
Our youth group is for 11-25 yr olds and most are between 15 and 23 so i fit in quite well there as well.
Our church also has an adopt a student thing were students living away from home can be linked with a family and go round for lunch and that sorta thing.

I got saved when i started university because someone from church was at the freshers fair and invited me to church.

so i guess im blessed.
 Praise God!!

I got saved my first year of university too!!!

See I kinda have a weird problem at my church. We have an amazing Youth Group, and we also have a booming Young Adults group (ages 18-25) which is totally cool because alot of churches dont have that. And out young adults group has about 50 people too.

BUt the sad thing is, out of about those 50, there are only umm lets see about 15 (thats being generous) of those who are serious about their faith. So it becomes more of a hang out or social time. So then teh 15 or so of us who ARE serious about growing in our faith, feel that we are not being ministered too. And we are much too young to join the adults. (I mean cmon I would be with my parents, and I just dont share the same struggles as 40 yearolds do!!!)

So ya... thats where my church is at

At my church they have a Young Adult worships service for young adults ages 16 to 24, but it seems like it's for ages 13 and up cause younger kids often are invited to join in the group. It also seem like what they say is geared towards junior high and high school students leaving us in college out of the picture. They tend to discuss topics that other college students and myself can't really relate to.

Maybe one of you 15 could form a small group/Bible study type thing just for you guys. It could be an informal type of thing that you guys lead yourselves, where you can address topics you guys feel are important. It would probably help you to be more comfortable about really getting into the Bible as opposed to the youth group situation, and also help you form closer relationships with those serious about their faith. I don't know, it's just an idea.

I like most of you am having trouble finding a good devotional based for young adults/college age. However some of you do have one good thing going foryou, you do have a good group at church, I however do not. I am in a class of 5 people, 2 of which are just a few years younger than me and we seem to get along quite well, but the other 2 are a married couple in their early to mid thirtys that are good friends but yet they face different issues than the other three of us. We do have a college age class as well that runs about 7 or 8 but none of them are very serious about their relationship with God and see class as a big fun "party". Now they have started a new young adult class that is aimed for COUPLES ages 20-35, not for singles. I just feel kind of lost in the middle having to either be a kid or an adult.
