  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am single and almost 33 and wanting to find a nice Bible college somewhere. I am interested in missions. I have lived in Korea as a missionary. I don't really like teaching. I want to do missions that isn't teaching.
I would like to go to a place that has other people in their 30s and mid to late 20s.

I have looked at Wheaton and Oral Roberts. What would you suggest?

I've heard good things about Simpson University, it's about 90 minutes north of me in Redding, California and is generally affiliated with the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination. They also have a seminary called A.W. Tozer Seminary that a few of my friends go to (or have gone to in the past).

My dad was on the faculty there for a while about 15+ years ago before they were a University, he thought it was a good campus back then but I'm not sure precisely what it's like now. It may be something that lines up with what you're looking for.

There's also Fuller Theological Seminary, Biola University, etc.

I would just like to note that you don't necessarily have to go to a Christian school to learn a skill that's applicable to the missions field. I have a heart for missions as well (Uganda specifically), and I'm pursuing film school... My hope is that my passion for cinema and the skills I acquire in film school will allow me to create compelling works of art that draw people's attention (Christians and non-Christians alike) to serious issues beyond our American borders.

However, if you do end up looking for specific training on theological matters then a Christian University/Seminary is the proper route to take. Getting any measure of theological education from a secular university can potentially be a volatile experience.
