Axver said:They've done some pretty good songs indeed ... and they opened for U2 at Slane Castle in 2001. I've heard that they've been influenced by U2, and I see a bit of it, but not on the scale some people say - it's not like Coldplay's released anything of the calibre of Where The Streets Have No Name, Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Year's Day, or One. Admittedly, I find some Coldplay songs boring, but stuff like Clocks is sheer brilliance and if all goes according to plan, I'll be getting their CDs for Christmas.
Oh yes, who's the cover by? And have you heard With Or Without You on the Rattle And Hum movie? I can't listen to the studio version after hearing that brilliance.Janine said:My favorite u2 song is with or without you, its on my sound file if you want to listen to it, but its a cover.
Since when did Coldplay rip off Radiohead? They don't sound a thing alike. Radiohead's dead boring for a start. I downloaded a live performance of I Might Be Wrong because Thom Yorke quoted U2's Please, and not only did he butcher the quote, but the song was the sheer essence of boring.Zander Wiles said:I am a fan of Radiohead and consider them somewhat original (no I don't worship them, and they are actually just better than mediocre). But ripping off Radiohead is bad

Axver said:Ah, right. Yes, Rattle And Hum is FANTASTIC. Sunday Bloody Sunday has the most classic Bono rant ever, the "f--- the Revolution!" one.
I love RAH nearly as much as I love the Under A Blood Red Sky video. UABRS only has 11 of the songs from that concert, though, so I'm trying to get my hands on the VCD of the entire show.
