Hahaha...that reminds me of my dad. It's so funny to look at band pictures of my dad from the 70's, cause everyone else in the band has long hair, and there's my dead, with just a little ring around his otherwise bald head.

I dunno if we're still talking about Coldplay on this thread or not (I just discovered it) but I do love Coldplay. Going to see them in January, and am so stoked. The energy Chris has on stage is awesome, and although their new album isn't quite comparable to Rush of Blood... It would have been insane to try to follow such a great album with anything as good or better.
I don't think they are the best band ever or anything, but they have influenced mainstream music for the better, and proved that minimalism can still be moving, all you have to do is present it in several layers.
Also, that piano can still be part of a good band. Thank goodness.
Not to mention the very quotable lyrics...
(how often have you worked "yes but... questions of science and progress do not speak as loud as my heart" in to a conversation???)... ok ok, maybe it's just me...

I bought A Rush of Blood to the Head first and then thought about getting Parachutes, but then listening to "Yellow" and "Trouble," I thought that an album with such depresssing (albeit good) songs could never be made.
Is the whole album that mellow?
