  1. COLD OR HOT ANGER

  • When I think about Daniel he tells us to trust only God!

  • He kept faithful whatever happened!

  • And he maintained his faithfulness in God!

  • He did his job! And he was always in a hurry! That's why he was above the others in a foreign country!

  • He didn't do it for him!

  • Otherwise he would have been in trouble! And he didn't let others take him away from God!

  • Men like Job, Samuel and Daniel spoke with the same voice to pray to God and to do his will!

  • If they were living today they would be ashamed of men!

  • And they would keep serving God whatever happens!

  • When I think about Paul he also tells us to trust only God!

  • I could say the same like in the case of Job, Samuel and daniel!

  • But he also encourages us to serve God and do our best to help others to get to know the Bible and God's message!

  • It is the best way to prepare for the future and for God's kingdom!

  • It won't be a part-time job but a full -time job!

  • And there won't be any other option!

  • When I think about prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah I see men who told men of their time that God was going to destroy them!

  • Destroy their way of life!

  • They would lose everything they had!

  • They were not afraid!

  • But those men didn't care!

  • And they lost everything!

  • They just had to listen and make big changes in their lives!

  • They had lost everything they were told!

  • They thought it would never occur!

  • And time passed!

  • And the destruction happened!

  • And everything that was told happened!

  • And Now?

  • Who listens to God's message?

  • Isaiah = DESTRUCTION!

  • Jeremiah = DESTRUCTION!

  • Daniel = RECONSTRUCTION AND DESTRUCTION!

  • Samuel = human kings replace God as king of Israel more problems for Israel!

  • Next step = God's kingdom = DESTRUCTION AND RECONSTRUCTION!

  • Anything else to add?

  • Will you get your pass for the promised land?

  • The Hebews failed except two men: Joshua and Caleb!

  • Think about that!

  • They never understood anything!

  • They didn't get ready!

  • They were stubborn!

  • So is mankind!

  • Will you get ready?

  • Or do you think you can get your pass for nothing?

  • I see normal men who became men of action because they serve God faithfully!

  • And their examples encourage us to take action!

  • I can think of Samuel!

  • He became a servant of God right at the beginning because of his mother!

  • And he became jealous for God because the Israelites rejected God as their king!

  • Instead they wanted a human king!

  • And he stayed faithful as a high priest and as a judge before Israel!

  • And he would do it all his life!

  • I can think of Daniel!

  • We are only told that he went to Babylon when he was a young man!

  • But he kept faithful and he didn't let himself be influenced by Babylonian traditions!

  • On the contrary, he kept strictly what he was taught!

  • And he did everything to not only maintain his relationship to God but to improve it!

  • In fact, he tells us that it is not possible to maintain a good relationship to God if we don't improve it!

  • That's why it is necessary to study the Bible daily and speak about what we learn to others!

  • And in fact, there was no one like him in Babylon!

  • He had more knowledge and wisdom than anyone in babylon!

  • And God was with him in everything he did!

  • I can think of Job!

  • He was always proud of his relationship to God!

  • He was always proud of doing his best to do what was right!

  • And he tells us to feel the same!

  • He knew something was wrong!

  • And he didn't know why!

  • But his relationship to God was his compass!

  • And nobody could break it!

  • Not even the devil!

  • When I think of Moses I have incredible images in mind!

  • He was educated as a prince of Egypt!

  • But he received a good education from his mother as a child!

  • He chose his own people, not the Egyptians!

  • And he had to flee and abandon everything behind him!

  • And he became a shepherd!

  • And God trained him when he was a shepherd living a simple life!

  • And he chose him to free his people from Egypt!

  • But he didn't think he was able to do it!

  • And he was not good at speaking in front of others!

  • So God told Aaron to go with him!

  • And he became the leader of the Israelites! And he had to bear their rebellious nature!

  • And they rebelled all the time!

  • And he saved them twice from extermination!

  • And he rescued them many times!

  • But they died in the desert!

  • And he couldn't get into the promised land!

  • Because of one mistake!

  • But a big one!

  • And it was because of the Israelites!

  • Thus we have a lot to learn about him!

  • We must never think that our relationship to God is good enough!

  • Not at all!

  • We must keep strengthening it!

  • Cold or hot anger?

  • When Adam and Eve opposed God they lost many things and died!

  • It wasn't any anger from God!

  • It was only the price to pay for disobedience!

  • A way to maintain the balance!

  • Cold or hot anger?

  • Cain became jealous of his brother Abel because God looked with favor on Abel but not on him!

  • And Cain grew hot with anger!

  • And God told him if he changed his attitude God could restore him to his favor!

  • But instead of listening to God he killed his brother!

  • So God cursed him and he was banished!

  • And God prevented Cain from being killed!

  • Once again no anger at all against Cain from God!

  • Just God's justice or a just balance!

  • Nothing more!

My spirit will not contend with man forever!

Man keeps going away from God!

Everything is going wrong!

God takes time to make his decision!

There is no anger at all!

God created the universe and the earth and he put man on purpose!

And it went completely away from this purpose!

So he decided to put an end to human society!

To start again with Noah and his family!

Genesis 6:4-6

Then Some of God's angels went down and had sexual relations with women and they had children who became powerful men!

And violence increased more and more!

And the wickedness of man was great!

Every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was evil all the time!

We are told about God's regret!

And it grieved him in his heart!

Definitely not anger at all!

Just regret!

A strong feeling!

Think about a father and his children!

A father who gave everything to his children!

And they rebelled!

4) Cold or Hot Anger?

  • In Genesis 11 we are told about the Tower of Babel!

  • Men were supposed to fill the earth according to God’s will!

  • But they refused to obey God’s will by staying together and building a big city and a high tower to reach heaven!

  • As a consequence God confused their language and they started to speak different languages and they filled the earth by going away according to their language!

  • There was no anger at all just to force them to do according to God’s will!

5) Cold or Hot Anger?

  • In Genesis 12 we are told that God struck the Egyptians because of Abraham and his wife!

  • Thus he acted to protect Abraham and his wife!

  • Thus God always acts on purpose!

  • There is always a balance between action and repayment of what has been done!

  • If we don’t have this idea in mind, we can’t understand God’s action!

6) Cold or Hot Anger?

  • In Genesis 15 God tells Abraham that his offspring will be slaves for 400 years!

  • But after that God will strike the nation that will do that!

  • And the Israelites will have compensation!

  • They will leave the country with many goods!

  • But think of that!

  • They will be slaves for 400 years!

  • And yet they won’t take advantage of such a bad situation!

  • How stupid they are!

  • But it’s the same with mankind!

  • Except the fact that the Israelites were supposed to be God’s people!

7) Cold or Hot Anger?

  • In Genesis 18 God tells Abraham he is going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because they were all bad to the extreme without any exception!

  • Genesis 19: 4,5 tells us to which extreme!

  • Lot was a foreign resident!

  • Thus Lot and his family could avoid the destruction but they couldn’t look back!
  • Lot’s wife looked back and she was destroyed!

  • In this case again, we can see God’s balance!

  • There is always a price to pay sooner or later!

  • It will be the same for mankind when Jesus comes back as a warlord!

  • And there won’t be any exception!

  • Everyone will be judged according to one’s actions!

8) Cold or Hot Anger?

  • In Genesis 20 Abimelech takes Abraham’s wife without knowing she is Abraham’s wife!

  • It happens like in Egypt!

  • But God doesn’t strike Abimelech because he has an honest heart!

  • But he warns him in a dream!

  • And God tells Abimelech to tell Abraham to pray for him!

  • Here again we see the same situation as in the case of Egypt!

  • But God acts differently depending on people’s attitude!

  • Once again God's balance!

9) Cold or Hot Anger?

  • Coming back to Genesis 20, in fact, God had made all the women of the house of Abimelech barren!

  • Thus Abraham had to pray for Abimelech and his house!
  • And as usual he would receive many gifts!

  • Sheep and cattle and servants and 1,000 pieces of silver!

  • In Genesis 38, Er, Judah’s firstborn is wicked and God puts him to death!

  • Once again we get God’s balance, Er is put to death because of his bad actions!

  • God frees Israel from Egypt!

  • But before he strikes Egypt with the ten plagues!

  • When Pharaoh pursues Israel, the Egyptians are drown in the sea!

  • Egypt pays for what they have done to Israel!

  • And Pharaoh is put in his place!

  • As usual God’s balance!

  • It doesn’t matter how long it takes!

  • Nobody can escape!

  • In Exodus 16 Israel begins to murmur against Moses and Aaron because of the food!

  • And he puts them to the test to see if they walk according to his law!

  • So they must gather sufficient manna every day and the sixth day they must gather the double because they won’t get anything the seventh day!

  • In the morning nothing must be left!
  • But they don’t listen as usual!

  • In fact they never listened!

  • So what is left in the morning is full of worms and stinks!

  • And some people go on the seventh day to get some manna but there is no manna!

  • And God is fed up with them!

  • As usual God’s balance!

  • He wants to see what they will do!

  • It is the same for us!

  • In Exodus 17 as usual, the Israelites keep quarreling with Moses because there is no water to drink!

  • And they murmur against Moses!

  • And Moses has enough with them!

  • And as usual they put God to the test!

  • Then God gives them water!

  • We can imagine that if Moses have enough with the Israelites, it must not be very different from God!

  • Except he can bear them longer!

  • We can call it cold anger!

  • But really cold!

  • Because God is able to wait and wait!

  • But then of course the consequences are usually at the level!

  • Same regarding mankind!

  • In Exodus 17 the Amalekites fight against Israel!

  • To show Israel that God fights for them, Moses stands on top of the hill while Joshua fights the Amalekites!

  • When Moses maintains his rod Israel prevails!

  • When Moses lets down his hands the Amalekites prevail!

  • Then Moses sits down on a stone and Aaron and Hur support his hands!

  • Thus Joshua defeats Amalek!

  • And it will be so all the time!

In the Bible, the human qannā (אנק) expresses a negative, self-destructive trait of character mainly related to envy and jealousy. In contrast, the divine qannā points to an essential attribute of YHWH, which relates both to divine holiness and to a fiery mode of action frequently imaged by volcanism.

  • Maybe the word exclusive is a better one!
  • We can’t worship God and other gods at the same time!
  • We can’t worship God as we want but as he wants!
  • Otherwise there is a price to pay!
  • There is no anger at all!
  • It is God’s balance!

  • The Jews used this verse to eradicate it!
  • But by doing it they take God’s name in vain!
  • The translators did the same!
  • And the religious leaders too!
  • They take God’s name in vain!
  • Don’t you think they are going to be punished for that!
  • What about us?
  • God has a name forever from generation to generation!
  • And using Lord instead is to take his name in vain!
  • For God, his name is essential!
  • When people don’t use it, it’s a total lack of disrespect!
  • That’s an infamy!

  • In Exodus 32, Moses goes to Mount Sinai to receive the Laws from God!
  • The Israelites use the absence of Moses and tell Aaron to make a god for them because Moses is not there!
  • Thus Aaron makes a golden calf!
  • Then the Israelites say it is the God who has freed them from Egypt!
  • All at once CORRUPTION is among the Israelites!
  • In fact, it is in their heart!
  • As it is in man’s heart!
  • And God tells Moses about the Israelites as an obstinate people!
  • And he speaks about his BURNING ANGER!
  • It is far more than a hot anger!
  • It is the maximum degree!
  • It can’t be higher!
  • And he wants to exterminate Israel!
  • He doesn’t do it because of Moses!
  • So when Moses goes down Mount Sinai he destroyed the golden calf!
  • And Moses tells the Levites to kill Israelites and 3,000 people are killed!
  • Then Moses goes back to Mount Sinai!
  • And God tells Moses that he will punish the Israelites!
  • Then God begins plaguing the Israelites!

  • In Exodus 33, God says he is going to send an angel ahead of them!

  • But he will not go in their mist!

  • Because they are obstinate people!

  • And he might exterminate them on the way!

  • And he can do it at any time!

  • Apparently many don’t know that!

  • But it is clear as crystal!

  • God tells Moses no man can see me and live!

  • APPARENTLY NO ONE KNOWS THAT!

  • BUT IT IS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE!

  • But of course, not in man’s tradition!

18) Cold or Hot Anger?

  • In Exodus 34, God tells Moses that Israel must not make a covenant with any of the people of the land!

  • Because it will be a snare among them!

  • But they won’t listen to God!

  • And they will get into trouble all the time!

  • When we don’t listen to God, we will get into trouble!

  • It is pure logic!

  • Nothing special!

  • Simple logic!

  • And he warns them again and again!

  • But they never listen!

  • Thus it is normal to pay the consequences of our acts!
