That's a pretty good collection. Close to what I have now exceptI have a lot more Lincoln cents. Collecting Lincoln cents is fun and easy. Like 1909 to 1959 for all the wheat backs.

Oh my goodness I love collecting wheaties!! Occasionally I still find one in my change and get super excited!

My daughter has my old collection. A super nice starter kit for her. So I had to start over. But it gave me a chance to try some new coins. Like now I have some foreign currencies. I like collecting monarchs in Canada. I want to see how far back I can go, . I have an Australian 6 pence super cool, found it on the ground. I collected Israel coins, important times in history and pieces relevant to history.

I also am trying to collect all the years of pennies. Who doesn't do that I guess

Oh I just got a mercury dime, a lead penny, an Indian head Penny, and I got a 1947 Nickle in remembrance of my Mom.

I don't know if any of my coins are valuable but I sure like them.

I wire wrap jewelry so I took one of my favorite coins and wrapped it.

Just came across this subforum, I used to collect coins too as a kid. I (mostly) filled out some of those coin collecting books they sell in bookstores, collected some foreign coins that somehow ended up mixed in with domestic coins, and got really interested in collecting proof coins for a while. Eventually I got tired of having no money from buying proof coins online and gave up the hobby.

If I ever got back into it I think I would just collect whatever I could find in person. For me the most exciting times with coin collecting weren't getting a new package with a mirror-finish coin in a plastic box, they were sitting on the bed sorting through a pile of pennies and finally finding a new year or mint mark to add to the collection.

For me coin-collecting was secondary to stamps. I would just throw any ones I got a hold of - through travels, etc. - into a jar.
Now, my grandson is into it. I pulled out my old jars and gave him all my duplicates to get his collection going. Threw in a silver bullion coin for good measure!
