Hi guys,
As you know, the standard secular method against OCD is the so-called "cognitive-behavioral" therapy. You expose yourself to the troubling thoughts, and then test yourself in order to stop "pleasing" your anxiety with compulsions.
I feel this would really, really be helpful to me. However, since my OCD is religious in nature (I get flooded with all kinds of blasphemous thoughts that are condemned by the Bible), my question is if exposing myself to the thoughts without any attempt to suppress them would be considered sinful from the perspective of Christianity.
Bear in mind that I, like most if not all OCD patients, get absolutely no pleasure or satisfaction from the thoughts. I hate them, and I find them extremely disgusting (I'd share some with you but I feel that it is unnecessary). However, I feel that exposing myself to them is necessary in order to get rid of the illness once and for all.
If this has been asked before, just link me to the thread.
