  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Coffee - YUCK!!!!!!!!
I thought the same way when my classmates dragged me to the coffee shop. I used to dispise it. I can't remember why I had a cup, but I found I like it. Too much sugar at first lol Now I can't imagine my morning without a cup of French Vanillia or Hazilnut or some high quality beans my step dad gets from all different countries.

Like Sushi/Sasami either have a taste for it or you don't. Never know until you try.

Am I the only person who has never understood the appeal of coffee?
I like it as a flavouring for desserts, but I absolutely will not ever drink it as a beverage. In that form, it tastes absolutely disgusting to me.

Okay so when I wrote my first post I hated coffee. ANd this is no joke.

But driving home from Chicago to Detroit, I stopped at Starbucks to get some hot chocolate.

The kid, despite being tipped well (I know this because he had the face of shock when I gave him the cash), messed up my order and gave me a mocha something, basically coffee with a shot or two of some syrup.

Anyways, long story short, by the end of my trip I was drinking straight black coffee from McDonalds and enjoying it.

If Chanis gets in here she can confirm my previous disgust for coffee, but now I like it.

Congrats, you all got to witness me acquiring a taste for coffee. It was that simple and that fast and I went straight to black, which kindof follows suit because my first full beer was a Guinness.

...and I have no idea how I'm going to get to sleep tonight.

I've made a similar trip, though I wasn't behind the wheel myself.

I see..

On the other hand though. I previously said coffee is for grown ups, and that opinion was formed over a year ago. Maybe turning thirty had something to do with it.

Dear God I hope I'm not a grown up.

One more year, and I can't trust you anymore.

so today I had a coffe dubbed "the all nighter".

Not sure what was in it but the beans came from Etheopia.

My friend said it was horrible, but I wouldn't know good coffee from bad at this point, so I enjoyed it.

Coffee makes the brain smile.
Tea makes the brain smile for LONGER, and with less horrible withdrawal symptoms.

I voted:

I used to regularly drink coffee but now I don't

I only drink it when I need an extreme effort to stay awake (like during a night vigil at church). Coffee can keep me awake for two days or more. My pastors wife won't touch the stuff cus she says it keeps her awake for even longer!

Wow, eh?
