Well thank you for that. We (my fiance and I) taught the youth this morning over Matthew 5-7. Forgiveness being the fine point of the lesson. We must not only forgive, but accept forgiveness...for that is what the Lord desires.

Yep, Im from Macon. Born, raised, and ready to leave! Living in NC now, outside of Raleigh.

God is the only Good :D Even Christ asked "Why do you call me good?" Still He is God in Spirit and the Word made flesh. Im just glad to say that I know that I need Him. I hope to know Him and more importantly Him to know me. We all do and I hope to share that with my friends...even those who don't believe. I continue to workout my salvation with fear...need to work on the trembling part though.

Very true about forgiveness.

With working out your salvation there is a once saved always saved post in word of faith section lots of different views there. For me what I feared was I could lose my salvation, I was always afraid I was going to hell for 28 years. One day a christian friend showed me the truth. that you can not lose your salvation it is a one way ticket to heaven. If this is a issue with you let me reassure you can not lose Jesus.

If this is an issue may I point to God's word John 6:32 NLT

32 Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, Moses didn’t give you bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven. 33 The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

34 “Sir,” they said, “give us that bread every day.”

35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But you haven’t believed in me even though you have seen me. 37 However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. 38 For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will. 39 And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. 40 For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”

I put some parts in bold that are a comfort to me and reassure me. I hope they are to you as well.

And to you as well! Let the dependency convo continue!

Let me ask you does one still have free will if one is completely dependent on God?

For me I care little about free will, I don't even want it. I want to do God's will forever, I can think of no greater thing. Yet people scream I have free will, I can reject God. Horrible thought. Why would a person even want free will? Does an infant have free will? because that is what we are like to God infants. AN infant doesn't really have free will to walk out of the house get a job and start its own life. It can't walk, it can't work, it can't even feed itself. That is us or the goal, Jesus taught this when He said don't worry what you will eat or wear. But God would provide for us. Now that does not mean sit on a corner until food drops from the sky, we are to look how God will feed us that day.

But what do you think is a person who is dependent on God still have free will. Another point Paul said he was a slave to God, we are his slaves, does a slave have free will?

Honestly, to me free will is nothing more than illusion, or false perception. We aren't in control, God is.

A slave can disobey their master if they are disobedient. A person will do exactly what it is in their nature to do. That's why the promise is Ezekiel 36 is written the way it is imo.

You know I never new we agreed on so much. Your right free will is an illusion. We have free will to chose even that is debated able because God calls us. But we are either a slave to God or to satan. Man is the bottom of the pole, animales are under us. :) and i am perfectly happy with all that. The great thing about that is because Jesus lives in us we have authority to command angels when doing God's will. Amazing. Just amazing.

:amen: brother

A lot of people will cry that free will is necessary for us to love God or for love to be genuine, but that's simply not true. I can find verse after verse to contradict free will, and to prove predestination/election as a FACT, but some folks just wont see it that way. And thus, I go back to "people will only do what it is in their nature to do" and you can extend that to faith and belief.

No one comes to the son unless the Father draws them to him. It is true that a child of God hates sin, he might give in to sin, his flesh side, but in his heart he hates it and longs to be free from this body that sin lives in and receive the perfect body with out sin.
