  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Just curious but is this an anime? I'm not quite sure if anyone has heard of it. I've seen it on Cartoon Network a few times at 5:30pm EST. I really like it. It's about these four kids who have a secret lab and try to stop this person from launching attacks on their community. Using the lab the kids are send into a virtual world to help stop the attacks and send everything in the real world back into the past. It's a little hard to explain, but if you see it you might get it.

Anyone seen this?

I have seen bits and pieces and it's not that bad. I don't know that I would call it anime (though it is obviously inspired by anime, at least), but I don't think it was made in Japan. I wasn't paying that close attention when I saw it the other day, but I suddenly realized that there were a whole lot of French names in the credits. I was a little confused about that.

Other than that, it's okay. Nothing special, but not bad. It does have an interesting premise.

It doesn't really surprise me. The French have often collaborated on anime before. This time it may just be them going it alone (kinda like the other show that CN seems to show a lot, Totally Spies). Interstella 5555 (although that was just Daft Punk, I think), Rose of Versailles (even though I think this is mainly French history, possibly not a collaboration), and Mysterious Cities Of Gold (Les Mystérieuses Cités d'Or) are some of those joint projects between France and Japan.

France also apparently had a huge anime explosion in the 80s, and a lot of series were dubbed into French, like Ranma ½ and others that I can't recall at the moment (I also seem to remember Ranma airing on a TV station around my area around '94 or '95, but I don't know why; if it really did it was probably heavily edited).

I havn't seen any of those. In fact the only one I have even heard of is Rose of Versailles (which I have a vague desire to check out, but not enough to go looking for it).

I am kind of suprised that the French are involved in anime that much. I don't guess there is any reason that they wouldn't be, but I never really thought about it before.

I suppose I should say "Code Lyoko" at least once in this post, since that is what this thread is about.
