Does a skilled wizard heal the blind? No.
For people that love to scream at everything as being offensive, you all sure do know how to be utter hypocrites.
I thought that was a good question. I said I accept that a miracle is not magic. How was I being a hypocrite?
How about you guys take your own advice? The Reverend Thomas Robert Malthus (1766-1834). Please give him his correct title.
Knock yourself out.
Wait until you see someone ask "How did sky daddy poof this universe into existence?"Equating miracles to magic to a religious person is extremely offensive to their beliefs,
We know because we have their text books. The Sumerians were the first to have a written language and we have found hundreds of thousands of clay tablets. How did the Sumerians know this? How do you know that the Sumerians knew it? Why do you believe such stuff?
Another flame. Let me explain the way things work here. WE ONLY talk about the subject. The poster, IE ME is NOT a topic for conversation. We do not talk about me and we do not talk about you. We ONLY talk about the subject or topic. Any comments about the posters themselves are always going to be unacceptable. We can reveal information about ourselves, like our education and our qualifications. But in general it is considered to be advisable NOT to give out to much personal information in a media like this. If you give out personal information then prepare for a personal attack against you in the way of a flame. It's sad that you didn't know that already, you are missing so much that life has to offer, it seems you're dreaming and adjusting your blinkers when you should be living and experiencing life.
No.That makes you feel a little better about your beliefs, does it?
Okay ... what about it?Read my sig.
Read mine.Read my sig.
Just because you view religion as foolish doesn't give you the right to harass people because they are religious, and call them stupid in order to push them out of their faith. It makes you no better than the religious people who threw rocks at me because I am openly atheist. It makes you a theology bully. That could well be the problem right there, if believers were told how others feel about their myth believing and they were mocked when they were younger perhaps they would not believe as they do today. [It works in the UK]
When a child gets to a certain age their parents stop telling them that Santa is real, if they continue to believe that Santa is real they get laughed at on the school bus or in school and they soon stop believing, if the same was done with religion the problem could well be nipped in the bud for millions of people.
I do however realise the exact opposite is true of America because the unbelievers [not the unbelievers in Santa] are more than likely to be in the minority on the school bus or in the schools, that's because the parents continue to tell the children that unlike Santa the God is real even when he is only as real as Santa was.
You do know a great deal of scientists are religious, right? Heck, I have no issue calling them "holy men", just know I don't view holy as a quality something actually has, just is perceived to have. Which is fair; you perceive them to be holy, while I don't, so from my perspective, that idea of what holy is makes sense.No.
I contend it makes scientists feel worse.
That's why they won't use it.
The adjective "holy" in sentences where they say: "Men wrote the Bible."Use what?
Yup.You do know a great deal of scientists are religious, right?
