Would you take a job with the CIA? Why or why not? How would you feel about someone who worked for the CIA?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nope...I'm not a CIA kind of person, they would never accept me. About someone else working for the CIA? I have no problem with it if it's what they want to do. Vallery Plane, before she was outed, was doing some VERY important work for the CIA. She is someone I highly respect.

The CIA is a necessary evil. Spying and gathering useful information to defend America is dirty work if they play to win which they have to. If they asked me I would work for them.

No, I wouldn't. Military and Justice departments usually have very demanding and low paying positions for my kind of work. I'm perfectly happy being a civilian employee for a health organization.

no, bc I wouldn't feel comfortable signing my life away to a spy agency for a salary of a few hundred thousand a year.

I hesitate to explain why I even ask, but someone I know got a job out of college with the CIA. The person is now a year into the job, will have a meeting with the president soon, and is being sent over to the Middle East.
I worried about the person's safety. The person can't tell anyone, including her husband, what she is doing, or even who she met with. I'm hoping that she isn't getting in over her head.

I don't know, does the CIA have chaplains? I'd have no problem being in the CIA, but I'd want to serve in an area God is calling me.
As to knowing people in the CIA? Well, I'd have no issue. I've already spent time with (professionally or personally) with members of the state department, secret service, the US marshals, and other agencies
