Church's using .org

Hey.

I need a question answered for me thats beginning to bug me. Why is it that all Church's are always using .org? Someone even asked me why I used .com for my Church's website but I never got around to asking them why all Church's and orginizations related to a religion or spiritual denomination's are always using .org for their websites.

Wierd, I have never noticed that!

However the website for my youth group does not use .org

If I remember correctly, .org is usually used by non-profit organizations, which would include churches.

.com has become so diluted that most churches want to be seen as an organization to separate themselves from businesses. My church website is a .com but I know many who use .com and .org.

Yah, .org says more "non-profit" than a .com does. I am currently pushing a .us for my youth group (as the .com and .org are already taken). I think the regional domains (such as .us and .co.uk) would be my second choice for a church, .org being the first.
