Do you believe your church is a temple? explain.

There are temples in some churches but a church is not a temple and a temple is not a church, there two different structures.

A temple is a holy structure to worship and pray as a church is a building to join together and praise God together as in most temples its suppose to be quiet and respect filled.

There are some churches that mix the two.

The temple is our bodies individually. The communal gathering of believers is not the temple but a gathering of living stones of the temple. The church building has nothing to do with our bodies.

The only physical building that has ever been a temple of God is the one in Jerusalem.

A temple is a place where God lives. Some people think of their church building as a special place where they meet with God. While at the church, people will be careful in what they say or do because they feel they are in a holy place where God lives in a special way.

For some reason I am reminded of a scene in the movie Footloose. While in their church, the preachers daughter admits she is not a virgin. Her dad, the pastor, tells her "don't you talk like that in here!"

The term "church" can refer to a building or people. Often "house of God" is used to describe the church building. A temple is the house where God lives; that is, God's house.
