  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

"...Why do you call Me good? There is none good but one, that is, God."(Matthew 19:17)

"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no man comes to the Father but by me." (John 14:6)

"...we ought to obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29)

In light of these verses, what do you believe about:
  • the doctrine of church infallibility?
  • there being no salvation outside of the church?
  • having to submit to the will and 'authority' of the church?

The Church is guided by the Holy Spirit. Scripture calls the Church the pillar and support of the truth. When one speaks of the infallibility of the Church, they are not speaking of the abilities of men. Rather, the infallibility of the Church refers to the grace of God given to the Church as a whole.

having to submit to the will and 'authority' of the church?

The Church was established by Christ. He placed certain authorities in the Church. Submitting to the Church is submitting to God, not men.

First of all the church's authority is spiritual and not civil nor is it physically constraining. It is certainly God's desire for us to submit to one another. Underestand also that the church is the regenerate people that assemble together locally and not the building or some headquarters. No one is to be constrained by the authority of the church. We choose through love to either submit ourselves to her doctrine, ordinances etc. or not to. When a member will walk outside of those bounds a church has only the power to remove the individual who will not submit themselves.

Talyx,
Not sure what you mean about "church infallibility" I haven't seen or heard of that one, just the papal infallibility, a vestige of emperor worship that nicolaitanes developed after recieving state sponsorship from Constantine.

Of course there is no salvation outside "the church", because "the church", the body of Christ, is comprised of ONLY saved individuals.

The "will & authority" of the church is Jesus Christ. Submit to no other.
