  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have been so blessed since we've been attending a LCMC congregation I thought I would start a thread for those that would like to boast about the blessing of their own church body. I would like to start by saying, keep in mind I had been seeking a home church for literally ten years. The last two years I dragged my GF to many churches with me. Previously she had never been in any other church than the RCC. My GF had been a disillusioned RC [no offense intended]. The fact that the service is liturgical helped make her feel at home. The congregation it self is very friendly and some of the ladies have taken her in and made her feel welcome. Then last month we helped move my parents closer to us because they were starting to need help in their older age. So to help them build a new social life we invited them to our church and they are very impressed with the church also. Now take the time and speak blessings about your church body.
