Chrno (or "Chrono") Crusade

I've read a little about it, and saw a whole entire *drum roll* One episode! Yeah....I haven't been to up to date with my anime lately. I heard excellent things about it, but I don't have the money to buy DVD's right now.

Definitely. I did notice that, not once was Jesus mentioned, despite the fact that everyone was Catholic. It's sad, really, how little Japan knows of our faith.

They likely know more about yours than you do of theirs. Well, perhaps I'm being presumptuous. But, Japan uses Christianity the same way the west uses Greek mythology - as a base for imagery and storytelling. They'll then throw out whatever they don't like and change what they feel like so it better fits with what they want to do.

Think about Disney's Hercules, which changed the story in very big ways (I mean, they made Hades into a Satan-like figure, whereas in the myths he's not really any worse than the other gods).

Anyways, I saw this anime being sold somewhere and I was wondering something... Why does the logo look so much like Chrono Triggers? Is that intentional?

About their logo, they chose the name, but it was changed to Chrno Crusade so as not to be confused with Chrono Trigger/Cross. I don't know why they made it look similar, I think just leaving it as Chrno was fine, IMO.

Similar, but not quite as similar as I'd been remembering. Oh well.

Is the series action heavy, or what? I've been thinking about checking it out. People here seem to like it a lot. Any other series you guys could compare it to?

...well... you can't really compare it to anything, Jimmy. lol. It's got basically a great balance of action, drama, and comedy, making it one excellent anime to watch or manga to read. You'd like it, I think.

Ironically, my dad bought me the first volume on DVD and I have fell in love with it!!! Should I try reading the manga and watch the DVD or will I get too confused since they go on diff tracks?

Mwahaha... Chrno Crusade it's not like that.

If you want, you can check out Astral Contract first. They got scans of the manga so that might help you know if you'll like it or not. The bad thing about it is that it's very tempting to read the whole manga there. So I don't go there anymore (I love books too much to switch them for a screen ).
