CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not to mention having a Christmas tree, lights, getting & giving presents, singing Christmas carols, and maybe even hearing "Merry Christmas!"

Aren't you glad to have non-religious holidays?
I will assume here you know christmas trees have a pagan origin. And while I agree most atheists will enjoy a lot of what you say they would, it is highly unlikely atheists (and many theists alike) will sing christmas carols, they are very annoying.

In this order: 1) pagans, 2) christmas trees (originally ornamented evergreen trees to commemorate the winter solstice, often worshiped), 3) Christ, 4) Christmas (which happens to coincide with the winter solstice and the tree thing).

I mean exactly what I said, that ornamenting trees during the winter solstice is a costume with pagan origin. Christians adopted the holiday, not the tree. There is no mention of a "Christmas tree" in the Bible.
My thought is that Santa Claus is as much a "Christian" symbol as the tree is. In other words, both are associated with Christmas but neither are Biblical.

I agree with you.
But I also think God put up with that for so long, then eclipsed it big-time with the first Noel.
Now we ornament trees with Christian interpretations.
The tree was hijacked ... (rescued, actually).
Is "Christmas" mentioned in the Bible? is "Rapture" mentioned in the Bible? is "Trinity" mentioned in the Bible?
I don't doubt that one bit.
