  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

All right y'all. Have any ideas on what to get a girl for christmas under $15? (our agreement) She has already taken care of mine and she actually made it. I kind of want to make her something too because that would be more thoughtful and take some pressure off the finances. Any girls have a present idea to share that they got at one time?

I would go with jewelery...all girls like it, at least as far as I know. You can get some pretty cheap and still beautiful earrings at places like Claires or the Icing or Target. Or, you can go to a craft store and make her some pretty earrings or a necklace with a heart charm on it. Look online to find ideas or instructions!

Yeah, the ideas so far are what I would say......jewlery is a great idea (especially if she likes to wear them) and so is the picture frame. My bf got me this picture frame one time that he was going to put a picture of us in...but he didn't get the pic before he had to give it to me...so he drew a picture on it and puts some sweet words on it...and I loved it so much that I didn't want him to get a picture for it...lol...so I have it on my counter...with his drawing...I love it so much.

With a picture frame, you can also get plain ones at a craft store, and then paint or decorate them. I know IKEA sells plain wooden picture frames, a couple in a pack, for a couple bucks. I've found that dollar stores are great for getting craft supplies, too.

A friend of mine made his girlfriend a quilt one year... too expensive though- fabric costs a lot! It looked great, and she loved it. :)

Hmm, under $15?

Maybe some earrings or a bracelet? Target has some cute stuff in the jewelry department.

Or you could make her some CDs? Baked goods - cookies, brownies?

Is she a coffee or tea drinker? I was in Starbucks this week and they had these travel mugs that come apart so you can create your own - using your own artwork, photographs, etc. You could do something very creative, there.
