  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

1-Believers are to become Christlike.....Php 2 vs 5 Has this to say. "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus"

God's ultimate goal for us is to make us like Christ. As we become more and more like him, we discover our true selfs, the person we were created to be. But how can we be conformed to Christ's likeness?.......By reading the word, by studying his life on earth through the Gospels, by being filled with his Spirit, and doing his work in the world.

2-The Holy Spirit makes believers Christlike.....2 cor 3 vs 18 And we, who with unveild faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into the likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

We can divide people into two categories-those who let themselves be controlled by their sinful natures. And those who follow after the Holy Spirit. We need to center our lives on God daily,so we can become more Christlike, with the help of his Spirit.

3-Christlikeness is the aim of disicipleship.....Matt 10 vs 24 A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master

To walk today as Christ did we must obey his teachings and follow his example of obedience to God and loving service to people. True Christian faith results in loving behaviour.

Howdy paulnoel,

Greetings. I like the theme of Christlikeness, and one of my favourite passages is:
1 John 3:1-3 (KJV): "1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."
If we want to be accepted by Christ when he returns, if we want fellowship with him, we need to become like him now.

Kind regards
Trevor
