For the record, i am no longer an athiest, im just waiting for the tag to be changed. Please ignore it until then. The reason i posted this is to discuss people that go to church for the image and stereotype.. For example, my cousins who i have no contact with have considered themselves strict Catholics and never missed a Sunday mass, had to go to church and learn about god since they were born, never eat without saying grace, etc. However, my uncle is an alcoholic who beats his kids, my aunt is a sociopath, one of my cousins cheated on her boyfriend and their all anti gay, racists. I'm not saying im perfect but at 50 you should've learned alot more and been a much nicer, more accepting human being for someone that strict.. Doesn't all of that contradict what god would want them to do?

The difference in christians and non christians isn't always seen through behavior unfortunately.

If they don’t act like Christians are they really Christians then ?

We act how we think. If we think unlike Christians how can anyone say someone is Christian but just doesn’t act it ?

There are approx. 2.2 billion different flavours of Christians in the world (2017). We are like Jelly Beans. Personally I am a delicious, fresh, tangy apple flavour but there are the Earwax, Chicken Liver and Rotten Onion flavours...some people like chicken livers and hate apples of course.

I hate to call them posers but i really think alot of people go to church for the image without even taking it seriously or because it was something their parents forced them to believe.. Unfortunately they dont value it enough to try very hard

Or, as seen from a different perspective, perhaps God's reach into humanity is greater than believed by some.

Yes. Which is a good case lesson in why being a Christian doesn't make someone better or more moral; and why simply bearing the name "Christian" doesn't always mean one takes it seriously beyond tribal identification.

This makes me recall a story a Buddhist monk related during his time and effort helping relocate war orphans with families in a new country willing to take them in: a woman came back to "return" the boy she was sponsoring & caring for. The monk asked her why she was returning him - she said "Because he's not a good Christian!" She thought he was a good Christian because he was kind, polite, patient, respectful - until she found out he was Buddhist.

That was really noble of her.. I long for the day she faces judgement, as well as my cousins.

EUREKA! You have discovered the truth most people hate to admit! (A lot of people on earth(maybe 90%) will fight tooth and nail to silence you,
if they cannot convert you ! )

Did she claim to be a Christian herself ?
