In GOD we trust
A fellow Christian once gave me some good advise regarding music. When in doubt just ask yourself, "What does it glorify?".

Listening to secular music does not mean you are not a Christian. Being a Christian is not defined by media. It is defined by what's inside your heart. And God knows what's in your heart. So, basically, if it doesn't offend you, feel free to listen to it. Of course, if it does offend you, or you feel it's causing you to fall away, then don't listen to it. But here's the thing. Most Christians have been taught since the beginning that secular music will corrupt you. Because if that, the placebo effect takes place. They believe it will corrupt them, so they let it corrupt them. But it doesn't have to. It is your choice. So if you want to call me evil or tell me I'm not a Christian because I listen to bands like Five Finger Death Punch, Limp Bizkit, Slayer, Pantera, Slipknot, My Darkest Days, Opeth, Otep, etc., then go ahead. At the end the day, my soul is still in God's hands, and His judgement is the only one that matters. Sure, I'm a sinner. But so are you. You might want to take care of the beam in your own eye before you worry about the speck in mine.
So fast? It took her 7 years to break into mainstream. You obviously don't know she was also a Christian artist before she became Katy Perry and are ignorant enough to take a silly statement like seriously.
Really, find something better to do with your time if you want to be a good little Christian and stop helping to spread rumours and lies about people you know nothing about.

Hi, first I want to say thanks for responding to my post and second I actually never said listening to secular music doesn't make you a Christian I was indeed though trying to point out that yes you and I both listen to secular music I do! but im just saying be careful who you listen to that's all and never would I call you evil or not a Christian you seem to have misunderstood me but I will say this, you are 100% right only that person can make their selves corrupt from secular music. With the last thing you said I kind of disagree because im not really worrying about the speck in your eye or anyone's else's because like I said earlier I listen to secular music too so im not here to judge but anyways whether you or anyone else doesn't agree with what I have to say that's fine but im just clarifying what I said before. thanks for replying and god bless!![]()
Probably because her father is a pastor? How would you feel if you were a pastor and your daughter, who was a Christian artist previously, came out with a hit song called "I kissed a girl"? I'm sure that was just the first nail being hammered in. However, we all know that all pastors are of a sane mind and would never say anything out of pure spite or untrue, don't we? Don't we? *crickets*her parents were strict and now call her a "devil child" which honestly I feel bad for Katy,
And we all know that you've never said anything that could possibly be taken the wrong way. Please tell me you're truly not that stupid.I go by what the person says themselves not by spreading rumors of what other people say bad about her and please sir don't tell me how to be a "good little Christian" thank youand if what I said was a "lie" than that means what Katy said wasn't really said which doesn't make sense just saying you said it not me ok.
Your "research" is laughable. You're looking for facts where there are none. There are, however, many conspiracy theorists, quite a few we've seen on this site as well. My suggestion? Maybe stop worrying about things that don't really matter. It'll keep you out of trouble.lastly you seem to know nothing about me because I don't post constantly about the illuminati or singers who are involved in the organization so yes I have a life I worry about other things and im barely on this site alone so always remember to be careful of what you say about another person but hey you said it yourself "I can be a bit of a prat" but hey whether you agree or not im just sharing what I research and see all the time. Anyways god bless and enjoy your day![]()

One man's experience with Christian and secular music (three part article). It makes for some good reading, as well.

Hey guys im Justiceand im hear to talk about Christians and the problem of listening to secular music or some secular artist. Now bare with me on this one, Im not saying Christians shouldn't listen to secular music but WHO are you listening to... let me explain ok. Now some of you may be aware of the secret organization called the Illumanti, yes, the ones who worship the evil one to have intant fame, fortune, and power. Now dont think that even I am not skeptical of this becuase i am but it can be true with the right amount of evidence and its accountability. Hey look! i admit i listen to secular music i mean who doesn't lets be real
BUT , yes BUT with enough research things seem clearer and easier to understand so do research on the Illumanti, secular artists, and the way the music industry works and then you will be able to make your own conclusions. Listening to secular music is fine but stay true to gospel music as it has more feeling, anointing, spiritualness, truth, love, upliftingness, and joy and who wouldn't want to sometimes get down, dance and shake with the family at the barbecue dancing to classic hits making wonderful memories. Comment down below on what you think about some chritians not being able to listen to secular music or just the general idea secular music and god bless everyone i love you![]()

The fact that the guy got affected by Black Sabbath is sad and hilarious. He took music way too seriously in parts.
Might very well be. But the main point he was trying to get across was that everyone's conscience levels are different, and that means one particular thing (in this case music) can bother some people while other people can do something with a clear conscience and not be affected. And it does go without saying that some people are more vulnerable than others. This can be applied to other issues, as well (such as eating meat vs. vegetarian, and so on).
