  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If it wasn't paul it would have been someone else in time though
Well then there was Timothy, Pauls spiritual son, and also Barnabas encouraged Paul.
And also Philemon.
We have Pauls letters which are now scripture and they were so inspired that there wasn't a need for God to add to what He'd already explained through Paul in terms of theology, but there were other writers of the NT not just Paul - Peter, James, Jude, John, Mark, Luke, Matthew. But certainly Paul was especially chosen by Jesus as an apostle.
He couldn't be accused of favouritism by Jesus as he wasn't even part of the original twelve. The change in him was supernatural - you could not deny someone who once persecuted christians becoming a super evangelist missionary.
He did have helpers along the way, fellowlabourers that he acknowledged in his letters - Apollos, Silas, Priscilla, Aquila etc.

Published book "Did Saint Paul Deviate From The Gospel?" may be useful to get a few answers on these questions.

His letters pleased the Gentiles who did not know the Law and it continues to please many with the same hidden background even now.

That is right. Scripture ended with the OT. It is the writings and the Holy Spirit now.

Pauls teachings are the teachings of Jesus. Galatians 1:12

And since the Pauline scriptures comprise the majority of the doctrinal books, Christianity would in sad shape without them.

Quoting Paul to endorse him is not a proof.

I do wonder about that. Paul seems to know little of the life of Jesus. He actually contradicts the virgin birth and the betrayal of Judas. He cites less than 100 words of Jesus and these are on relatively trivial matters.

Jesus' words quoted by Paul can be disputed and has no support from the gospel accounts.

Jesus did not choose Paul as an apostle.

I think Gospel books and Revelation were written to uphold the truth of preaching of Jesus which Paul was not completely aware of which can be seen in his epistles.

Jesus never said to celebrate communion to remember His death!

Christianity would be better if Paul is not overemphasized.

Jesus came to teach the spirit of the Law as He fulfilled the letter of the Law

To a a certain extent it may be possible that Jesus warned us of false prophets, like, Paul. Paul was the first heretic of Christianity.

2 Tim 3:16 "ALL scripture is given by inspiration from God"
Peter said "Holy men of old - moved by the Holy Spirit - spoke from God" 2Peter 1:21

I know that Muslims don't like Paul - - who else does not like him??

Anyone who is seeker of the truth and words of Jesus
